The Drift
We watch, and we see.
We see an embryonic god incubating in the heart of a sun.
We see those who covet it. And those who wish to snuff it.
We see those who would rule. And those who rise against.
We see YOU, a lone soul drifting toward whatever destiny be writ upon thy back, whether it be at the seat of a star-spanning empire or the bottom of a shit-choked well.
We see you: What do we see?
THE DRIFT is a persistent campaign in which you, the player, help to create a collaborative, ongoing narrative. Each player controls a character independently making their way through this setting in a one-on-one story thread between me (the DM) and you, as a duet. Some characters will cross paths; others will not. Some will reach the heights of power and influence; others will not. Some will survive; others... well...
You get the drift.
The game is played through text (Play-by-Post, or PbP) on Discord using D&D Beyond, Avrae and AboveVTT. Don't worry if you're not familiar with any of those things; I have streamlined the process to make it easy and fun, and will gladly help you through the entire process of setting up and beyond.
The goal is to have this campaign last for years and years, even be generational (future "seasons" involving the children of previous characters, for example, while others with longer lifespans might still be active). The setting will evolve as the landscape shifts. Empires may rise and fall, extradimensional invasions might take place... hell, someday the sun at Driftspace's center, Khal, threatens to hatch a god, and who knows what'll happen to the system then?!
If you're interested in joining this epic, sprawling, ongoing campaign and becoming a part of its history (which may be published in some form down the road, with credit going to all contributors), please check out the advertisement on StartPlaying.games (coming soon!).
Driftspace’s central star Khal is not an ordinary sun, but in fact a birthing god. Several factions have come to learn of this truth and hope to ultimately either turn the incubating deity to their cause, steal its power outright, or, in the case of the undead, snuff its light out entirely.
